Software Engineer (Node.js/TypeScript)
About the Role
As a Software Engineer (Node.js/TypeScript) at JobSyme, you will build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services that power our products and platform. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and fellow developers to deliver reliable features and continuously improve our technology stack.
This is a full-time onsite position, and candidates are expected to work from our office, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced engineering environment.
You will play a key role in designing APIs, developing microservices, optimizing system performance, and ensuring the reliability of applications deployed in cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications using Node.js and TypeScript.
Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices that support business-critical applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver high-quality software.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following industry best practices.
Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
Design and implement database schemas, queries, and data access layers.
Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions.
Troubleshoot production issues and support system monitoring and incident resolution.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing to improve deployment efficiency.
Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies and engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
2+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
Experience building RESTful APIs using frameworks such as Express.js, NestJS, or Fastify.
Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Redis.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Understanding of Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms, including JWT and OAuth.
Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and software design patterns.
Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with microservices architecture.
Familiarity with message brokers such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Amazon SQS.
Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms.
Knowledge of GraphQL.
Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest or Mocha.
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.
