About The Role
We are seeking experienced software engineers at a tech lead level to join our cutting-edge project focused on Large Language Model (LLM) evaluation and training datasets. This role is pivotal in developing datasets that enable LLMs to handle realistic software engineering challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with high-quality public repositories, particularly on GitHub, and possess hands-on experience in software development, environment automation, and quality assessment. Your contributions will directly influence the development of verifiable software engineering tasks and expand dataset coverage across different programming languages and difficulty levels. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend practical software engineering expertise with AI research, impacting the future of AI-assisted software development.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of overall software engineering experience, demonstrating proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript. Strong knowledge of version control systems such as Git, containerization tools like Docker, and experience setting up and managing software pipelines are essential. Candidates should have the ability to understand and navigate complex codebases, run and modify projects locally, and evaluate code quality and test coverage effectively. Experience contributing to open-source projects or engaging in open-source evaluations is a plus. Additionally, familiarity with AI research projects, automation tools, or developer tools will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and triage GitHub issues across trending open-source libraries to identify relevant challenges for LLM evaluation.
- Set up and configure code repositories, including environment setup and Dockerization, to facilitate testing and development.
- Evaluate unit test coverage and quality to ensure robustness of datasets and codebases.
- Modify and run codebases locally to assess the performance of LLMs in bug-fixing and other software engineering scenarios.
- Collaborate with researchers to design and select repositories and issues that effectively test LLM capabilities.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering collaboration and ensuring project milestones are met.
