About The Role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our dynamic team at Lucidity. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact projects that directly influence the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of cloud storage solutions. As an SDET, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and executing automated test cases to ensure the quality and reliability of our products. You will collaborate closely with the engineering teams to understand testing requirements, develop robust automation frameworks, and troubleshoot issues to facilitate smooth product releases. The role involves testing complex APIs, web-based applications, and database-backed systems, requiring a combination of technical expertise and analytical skills. This position offers flexibility with remote work, with the first month of onboarding and one week per quarter onsite in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have a passion for quality assurance, strong coding skills, and experience working in an agile environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a combination of technical skills, relevant experience, and educational background, including:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a reputed college.
- 2 to 8 years of experience in software testing, automation, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of functional testing and automation frameworks within agile environments.
- Proficiency in Java, with hands-on experience in developing and maintaining automation test suites.
- Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Pytest, and TestNG.
- Hands-on experience working with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.
- Expertise in API testing, particularly RESTful services.
- Proficiency in Linux environments, and familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Strong knowledge of databases, especially MySQL, and experience working with database-backed applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Strong coding abilities, particularly in Java, and a passion for quality and automation.
Responsibilities
The SDET will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our cloud storage solutions through comprehensive testing and automation. Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases and test suites to validate product functionality and performance.
- Execute test plans, review test results, and diagnose reported bugs to identify root causes.
- Collaborate with software developers and cross-functional teams to derive testing requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
- Reproduce, debug, and isolate issues, verify fixes, and ensure high-quality releases.
- Work closely with engineering teams to create detailed test plans, test cases, and test reports.
- Participate in continuous integration and delivery pipelines to automate testing processes.
- Test complex APIs and web applications that interface with database systems, ensuring robustness and reliability.
- Estimate testing tasks, prioritize work, and deliver results independently while maintaining a collaborative team attitude.
