Bigpluto Technologies is a tech-driven organization focused on building high-throughput, scalable systems. Our stack is multi-language and pragmatic, designed for performance and reliability. We are looking for a Software Developer who is a quick learner, comfortable across the stack, and ready to take end-to-end ownership of systems under the mentorship of our senior engineering team.
The Role
As a Software Developer, you will contribute to our core backend services, manage asynchronous data flows, and ensure our cloud infrastructure is robust. You will work in a fast-paced environment where you will be expected to bridge the gap between complex backend logic and seamless frontend integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Backend Development: Design and maintain scalable APIs using Node.js and TypeScript, utilizing GraphQL (type-graphql) and REST patterns.
- High-Throughput Systems: Assist in developing and maintaining high-performance components using Rust (for real-time listeners) and Go (for worker/ingestion utilities).
- Data Management: Work with MongoDB (Atlas and self-managed sets) and manage event buffering through RabbitMQ.
- Infrastructure & DevOps: Deploy and manage services on AWS (ECS on EC2, S3, CloudFront) and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions/CodeBuild.
- Full-Stack Awareness: Debug and resolve API/UI integration issues within a React (Vite) frontend environment.
- Observability: Monitor system health through logs and metrics, participate in incident triage, and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Technical Requirements
- Core Backend: Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript. Experience with GraphQL is highly preferred.
- Systems Programming: Functional knowledge or a strong desire to work with Rust and Go.
- Database & Messaging: Hands-on experience with MongoDB and RabbitMQ (or similar message brokers).
- Cloud Operations: Familiarity with AWS services (VPC, Security Groups, IAM, ALB, CloudWatch) and Serverless (Lambda) triggers.
- Containerization: Proficiency with Docker and basic Linux operations.
- Frontend Context: Basic ability to navigate React codebases to debug integration points.
Candidate Profile
- Experience: 2–3 years of professional software development experience.
- Adaptability: A "pragmatic" approach to coding—using the right tool for the job, even if it requires learning a new language or framework quickly.
- Ownership: Ability to own features end-to-end, from local development to cloud deployment.
- Collaboration: Comfortable working under the guidance of a Senior Developer while being proactive in problem-solving.
- Communication: Clear communication skills for effective incident reporting and documentation.
