Job Description:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Software Development Manager (SDM) to lead our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background along with proven leadership skills to manage end-to-end software development lifecycles. You will be responsible for driving project execution, mentoring developers, and ensuring high-quality delivery aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software developers
- Oversee the design, development, and delivery of scalable applications
- Collaborate with product managers, QA, and other stakeholders to define project requirements
- Ensure timely delivery of projects with high quality and performance standards
- Drive best practices in coding, architecture, and development processes
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to the team
- Manage sprint planning, task allocation, and progress tracking
- Identify and mitigate risks, bottlenecks, and technical challenges
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance management of team members
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5–8 years of experience in software development with at least 1–2 years in a leadership role
- Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, PHP, or JavaScript)
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
- Experience with system design, architecture, and scalable solutions
- Familiarity with databases, APIs, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Hands-on experience with version control systems like Git
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Good to Have:
- Experience in DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Exposure to microservices architecture
- Knowledge of performance optimization and security best practices
