Company Description

Sponsorship Jobs is a dedicated job board focused exclusively on sponsorship opportunities, connecting professionals with global roles. Specializing in supporting international career mobility, we offer country-specific boards for tailored opportunities. Our platform bridges the gap between talented job seekers and employers offering relocation and visa sponsorship.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Software Developer role based in our London headquarters. You will join a high-velocity engineering team dedicated to building the world’s premier platform for international career mobility.

As a core member of the dev team, you won't just write code; you will architect scalable systems that handle complex global data sets. You will be responsible for the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)—from initial requirements gathering and system design to deployment, monitoring, and continuous optimization. This role is ideal for a developer who thrives on solving "heavy-lift" back-end challenges and wants to see their work directly impact global recruitment.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Architecture: Design and implement robust, scalable back-end services and APIs to power our multi-country job boards.
  • Performance Engineering: Optimise database queries and application logic for high concurrency and low latency.
  • Cloud & DevOps: Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless, automated deployments.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement best-in-class security protocols to protect sensitive user data and ensure GDPR compliance.
  • Collaboration: Participate in rigorous code reviews, sprint planning, and architectural "whiteboard" sessions to maintain high code quality.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve complex bottlenecks and bugs within legacy and greenfield systems.

Technical Qualifications

  • Advanced Programming: Mastery of at least one major back-end language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, or C#) with a deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and functional paradigms.
  • Web Ecosystem: Expert knowledge of back-end frameworks (e.g., Django, Spring Boot, Node.js) and RESTful API design.
  • Data Management: Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and familiarity with NoSQL solutions (Redis, MongoDB).
  • Computer Science Foundations: Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, and computational complexity.
  • Modern Tooling: Experience with Docker/Kubernetes, Git version control, and cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Testing: Commitment to Test-Driven Development (TDD) and writing comprehensive unit and integration tests.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in a software engineering role, preferably within a SaaS or high-growth startup environment.

  • Visa Sponsorship is available for the roles and move to UK.
