Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and skilled Software Test Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts for web, mobile, and API applications. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, automation tools, and collaboration with development teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
- Design and enhance automation frameworks using industry-standard tools.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA teams to understand requirements and testing needs.
- Identify, document, and track software defects using bug-tracking tools.
- Perform API testing and database validation where required.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Analyze test results and prepare detailed test reports.
- Ensure software quality standards and best practices are followed.
- Continuously improve automation coverage and reduce manual testing effort.
- Support CI/CD pipeline integration for automated test execution.
Technical Skills
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and QA methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools such as:
- Selenium
- Cypress
- Playwright
- Appium (preferred for mobile testing)
- Knowledge of programming/scripting languages:
- Experience with API testing tools like Postman or Rest Assured.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools:
- Basic knowledge of SQL/database testing.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced Agile environment.
- Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- ISTQB certification is a plus.
- Experience with cloud testing platforms like BrowserStack or Sauce Labs is preferred.
- Exposure to performance testing tools like JMeter is an advantage.
