<strong>Senior: IT Systems Engineer</strong><br><strong> Location: 12th Street SW Washington DC</strong><br><strong> Work authorization: US Citizen</strong><br><br><strong> Overview</strong><br> We are seeking a <strong>Senior IT Systems Engineer</strong> to support infrastructure, cloud environments, and compliance-driven system operations.<br><br> <strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><br> Perform systems engineering and administration across on-prem and cloud environments<br> Manage <strong>Microsoft 365 / Entra ID</strong>, including MFA and conditional access<br> Evaluate and improve IT architecture and configurations</div><ul>
<li>Ensure compliance with <strong>FISMA and NIST</strong> requirements</li>
<li>Implement STIG baselines and security configurations</li>
<li>Manage patching, updates, and vulnerability remediation</li>
<li>Install and maintain servers, storage, and network systems</li>
<li>Develop disaster recovery and backup strategies</li>
<li>Support security tools such as EDR and compliance baselines</li>
<li>Maintain system documentation and SOPs</li>
</ul><div><strong>Qualifications</strong></div><ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field</li>
<li>7+ years of systems engineering experience</li>
<li>Strong experience with Azure, M365, and hybrid environments</li>
<li>Knowledge of federal compliance frameworks (FISMA, NIST)</li>
<li>Experience with PowerShell and automation</li>
</ul><div><strong> Preferred Certifications</strong></div><ul>
<li>Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator / Architect</li>
<li>Security+ or equivalent</li>
</ul>
