The hired person is encouraged to organize and run their own pickleball clinics at the facility. All revenue generated from these clinics goes directly to the Pickleball Manager, minus the cost of renting the court (paid to SoFive). What You'll Do
Manager on Duty — Facility Operations
- Act as primary on-site decision-maker during your shifts, in the absence of the GM and Assistant Manager
- Oversee daily operations across all sports: opening/closing the facility, completing checklists, ensuring everything runs on schedule
- Be the first point of contact for customers — handle inquiries, complaints, and Aircall/email responses with a customer-first mindset
- Coordinate with on-site staff and coaches; promote teamwork and ensure adherence to SoFive's policies and standards
- Monitor cleanliness, inventory, and equipment; report needs and incidents to the GM
- Uphold health & safety standards, conduct regular checks, and document any incidents through the incident report form
- Send the daily debrief at closing and escalate unresolved issues to the GM
Pickleball — Coaching & Programming
- Lead clinics, group classes, and training sessions for all levels (beginner to advanced)
- Design and continuously evolve the program calendar (juniors, adults, leagues, tournaments, events)
- Deliver a high-quality player experience in every session
Pickleball — Operations & Growth
- Run the booking system for pickleball (court slots, programs, payments, registrations)
- Grow the Upland pickleball community through acquisition, retention, and referrals
- Bring the program to life: tournaments, social events, open-play nights, local partnerships
- Contribute to local marketing (site social media, acquisition campaigns, promotions)
- Track KPIs (court utilization, revenue, retention) and drive actions to improve them
Who You Are
Must-haves
- Strong pickleball player (competitive level or certified coach — PPR / IPTPA a plus)
- Experience coaching or running group sports programs
- Operational mindset — comfortable managing a facility, handling customers, and leading staff on shift
- High energy, strong people skills, ability to build and lead a community
- Comfortable with digital tools (booking systems, CRM, social media)
- Entrepreneurial mindset: autonomous, proactive, results-driven
- Available Monday to Friday, late afternoon to evening (4 PM – 10 PM)
Nice-to-haves
- Experience managing a club, academy, or sports facility
- Prior experience as a duty/shift manager in sports, hospitality, or retail
- Knowledge of the Upland area and its local pickleball scene
- Digital marketing or community management skills
