We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for our Duluth, MN Location. Currently Duluth is undergoing a rapid expansion project that will bring Converting Operations onsite, as well as a fully automated Distribution Warehouse for finished goods. This role is a key player in the Maintenance Management program. This role will provide support to various technician's reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor with teams on both shift and days. Our Duluth site has a very strong group of maintenance technicians in areas that range, from Automation, Mechanical, Lubrication, Electrical and Instrumentation, and more.
The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Manager. This role provides support for both the Paper Machine Operations and the expanding Converting Operations. This role will work closely with the Spare Parts Department, Purchasing, and Planning. As a Maintenance Supervisor you will work to provide support to the Maintenance Technicians, and partner with other leaders throughout the site to accomplish facility wide maintenance support.
The Position
The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Manager. This role provides support for both the Paper Machine Operations and Converting Operations. This role will work closely with the Spare Parts Department, Purchasing, and Planning. As a Maintenance Supervisor you will work to provide support to the Maintenance Technicians that work within the Mill. This role is Monday to Friday, with a scheduled on-call rotations.
Responsibilities of the Maintenance Supervisor include but may not be limited to:
● Maintenance Supervisor is required to be “on-call” and to respond to emergency maintenance
● Responsible for breakdown repair and preventative maintenance activities throughout the plant and provide work training to less experienced maintenance staff.
● Perform preventative maintenance, identify and correct problems of equipment using appropriate tools
● Adhere to governmental regulatory programs and policies
● Perform preventive maintenance and upgrades to mechanical systems
● Maintain good employee relations while establishing accountability for individual behaviors
● Engage in project planning
● Review and support ordering of parts for kitting a repair job and common parts needed in production
● Work with Purchasing to plan and implement purchases to support maintenance projects
● Oversee safety program and preventative maintenance throughout the mill
● Perform maintenance management by supervising maintenance personnel and establishing priorities in maintenance schedules
Essential Job Functions:

● Demonstrate ability to use tools and other common metrology instruments related to the operation of the equipment.
● Demonstrate the ability to identify nonconformance and notify leads of issues.
● Communicate in a manner that supports production and maintenance- confers with managers, supervisors, technicians, production personnel, and other work groups regarding procedures and results and to resolve problems.
● Ability to use computer and peripherals, standard and customized software applications and tools, and usual production equipment.
Requirements of the Maintenance Supervisor:
- Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- 5 + years of industrial maintenance and electrical experience
- 2+ years of experience within a maintenance team within a manufacturing environment
- Strong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and troubleshooting experience
- Ability to bring a maintenance team together, develop junior level maintenance staff and work in a team environment within a diverse workforce
- Strong sense of job ownership/accountability with effective verbal and written communication skills
- Must be flexible and able to work overtime and weekends when required
- SAP experience desired

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when in the plant and warehouse areas. PPE will include safety shoes, eye and ear protection, reflective vests and hairnets or hats along with any other necessary protection. Temperatures in the plant/warehouse can range a great deal from season to season. The employee will be exposed to considerable paper dust and employees will also be exposed to noise levels that will require hearing protection.
