About the role

The Mortgage Project Manager will manage and oversee corrective action plans and internal audit-finding solutions within the mortgage department. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual with strong mortgage operations, project management, and regulatory compliance background. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all corrective actions and audit findings are addressed promptly and effectively, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Corrective Action Planning: - Develop, implement, and manage corrective action plans (CAPs) to address identified issues and ensure timely resolution. - Collaborate with stakeholders to identify root causes of issues and develop effective strategies to prevent recurrence. - Monitor and track the progress of corrective actions, ensuring timely completion and adherence to established timelines. - Prepare and present status reports on corrective action plans to senior management and other stakeholders. Internal Audit Finding Solutioning: - Review and analyze internal audit findings related to mortgage operations, identifying areas of risk and non-compliance. - Develop and implement solutions to address audit findings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. - Work with internal teams to develop and document policies and procedures that address audit findings and improve operational efficiency. - Conduct follow-up reviews to ensure the effectiveness of implemented solutions and compliance with audit recommendations. Project Management: - Lead and manage mortgage-related projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements. - Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation. - Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including compliance, operations, IT, and legal, to ensure successful project execution. - Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring timely communication and resolution of issues. Regulatory Compliance: - Stay current with industry regulations, guidelines, and best practices related to mortgage operations. - Ensure that all corrective actions and audit solutions comply with applicable regulatory requirements. - Provide guidance and training to internal teams on regulatory compliance and risk management best practices.
