Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Social Worker at Sevalaya, based in Chennai. The Social Worker will engage with underprivileged communities, coordinate and implement welfare and development programs, and address community needs. Daily tasks include conducting assessments, providing guidance to beneficiaries, collaborating with various stakeholders, and preparing reports to track program outcomes. The role also involves organizing awareness campaigns and liaising with organizations to mobilize resources and support services.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in social work practices, case assessments, and community engagement
• Strong communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to plan, organize, and implement programs effectively
• Experience in report writing, documentation, and evaluation
• Familiarity with local languages and cultural sensitivities
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field
• Prior experience in community development or working in an NGO is an advantage
