Role Description
Bharat Demographic Research is seeking a Social Media Strategist – Political Domain for a full-time, on-site role based in Dehradun. The role involves planning, managing, and executing digital communication strategies for political, governance, and public outreach campaigns across multiple social media platforms.
The Social Media Strategist will be responsible for developing issue-based campaigns, monitoring digital narratives, creating audience engagement strategies, coordinating with content and design teams, and building strong online positioning for political leaders, governance initiatives, and public campaigns.
The role requires a strong understanding of political communication, public sentiment, regional narratives, social media trends, and digital campaign execution. The candidate will work closely with research, media, operations, and creative teams to develop impactful and data-driven digital strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
* Mass Communication
* Journalism
* Political Science
* Marketing
* Media Studies
* Public Relations
* Or related fields.
* 3–6 years of experience in:
* Political communication
* Social media strategy
* Digital campaigning
* Public relations
* Media agencies or campaign operations.
* Experience with tools such as:
* Meta Business Suite
* Google Analytics
* Canva
* Buffer
* Hootsuite
* Social listening tools
* Performance analytics platforms.
* Understanding of regional political narratives and Hindi-language digital communication is highly preferred.
* Experience managing influencer outreach, digital engagement campaigns, and rapid-response communication strategies will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute political and governance-focused social media campaigns.
* Plan issue-based, emotional, and public engagement content strategies.
* Coordinate daily content publishing across platforms.
* Monitor social media trends, sentiment, and engagement performance.
* Track digital narratives and competitor/opposition activity.
* Work closely with creative teams for:
* Reels
* Graphics
* Video campaigns
* Public storytelling content.
* Support leadership image-building and public outreach initiatives.
* Create campaign performance reports and audience insights for internal stakeholders.
* Coordinate influencer campaigns and digital amplification strategies.
* Ensure consistent digital branding and communication across platforms.
