About the Role
We are looking for a sharp, creative, and highly organised Social Media & PR Assistant to manage the personal brand and public presence of a bestselling author. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with an influential voice, shape compelling narratives, and build an engaged community across platforms.
What You'll Do
- Manage and grow the author's presence across Instagram, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and other relevant platforms
- Plan, create, and schedule content including posts, reels, carousels, and stories — aligned with the author's voice and brand
- Pitch to media outlets, podcasts, publications, and event organisers for features, interviews, and speaking opportunities
- Draft press releases, bios, media kits, and other PR collateral
- Monitor coverage, mentions, and audience sentiment, and compile regular performance reports
- Coordinate with publishers, PR agencies, and event teams for book launches, tours, and campaigns
- Respond to DMs, comments, and community engagement in a timely and on-brand manner
- Stay on top of trends in the publishing, content, and media space
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years of experience in social media management, PR, or content roles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and what makes content perform
- Ability to capture and write in someone else's voice authentically
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities at once
- A genuine love for books, storytelling, or the publishing world is a big plus
