Role Description This full-time, remote Social Media Manager role is responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing SikhAid’s presence across social media platforms. The Social Media Manager will develop and implement content calendars, create and schedule posts, and ensure consistent messaging aligned with the organization’s mission and campaigns. Day-to-day tasks include engaging with online communities, responding to comments and messages, and monitoring conversations related to SikhAid and its focus areas. The role also involves collaborating with program and fundraising teams to support campaigns, storytelling, and impact reporting through social content. The Social Media Manager will track performance metrics, prepare basic reports, and recommend improvements to increase reach, engagement, and supporter participation.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Social Media Marketing and Social Media Optimization (SMO) skills to manage and grow multi-platform social channels.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication and Writing skills to create clear, engaging, and mission-aligned content.
- Candidates should possess experience with Content Strategy to plan campaigns, content calendars, and platform-specific narratives.
- Experience using social media analytics tools and basic reporting skills to evaluate performance and inform improvements.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage deadlines, and coordinate with diverse teams and volunteers.
- Familiarity with non-profit or social impact communication, especially in areas such as disaster relief, education, healthcare, food security, or women’s empowerment, is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
