About CodeYogi Foundation
CodeYogi Foundation is democratizing access to technology careers for millions of underserved students across India. We've built a mobilefirst, AIpowered coding education platform that works entirely on smartphones — because over 70% of students in India complete schooling without practical exposure to computers.
We serve 300,000+ students across 9 states and 98 districts, with 48.6% girls. Students in rural government schools are learning HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React — on their family's smartphone. A farmer's son in Madhya Pradesh presents projects to District Administration. A humanities student in Rajasthan qualifies for IIT Madras after learning to code on her phone.
The problem: Almost none of this is visible online. Our social media presence doesn't reflect the scale, depth, or urgency of our work.
That's where you come in.
The Role
We're looking for a Social Media Manager who will build CodeYogi's social media presence from scratch. You'll be the person who makes our work visible — telling student stories, building community, and turning social media into a channel that drives awareness, funding, partnerships, and student acquisition.
This isn't a "post and schedule" role. You'll define our social voice, create content across platforms, build an engaged community, and connect our mission to audiences who can amplify it.
You'll work from our Dehradun office, closely with the Founder/CEO and the broader team. You'll have access to incredible stories, real impact data, and a mission that matters — and you'll turn all of that into content the world wants to engage with.
What You'll Do
Content Creation & Publishing (50% of time)
- Create platformnative content for LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter/X, and YouTube
- Write compelling captions, posts, and threads adapted to each platform's audience and format
- Design visual content using tools like Canva (carousels, infographics, quote cards)
- Create shortform video content (Reels, Shorts) from available footage and photos
- Develop and maintain a consistent posting cadence across all platforms
- Tell student success stories with authenticity, consent, and dignity
Community Building & Engagement (25% of time)
- Respond to comments, DMs, and mentions promptly and thoughtfully
- Engage proactively with relevant accounts (education sector, social impact, government, funders)
- Build relationships with influencers, educators, and potential partners through social
- Create content that encourages interaction (polls, questions, discussions, AMAs)
- Monitor relevant conversations and trending topics for engagement opportunities
Strategy & Analytics (15% of time)
- Develop and maintain social media content calendar
- Track performance metrics (reach, engagement, follower growth, clickthrough)
- Analyze what's working and iterate based on data
- Identify platform priorities and optimize resource allocation
- Report social media performance to leadership regularly
Collaboration (10% of time)
- Extract stories, photos, and updates from the operations and field teams
- Coordinate with leadership on messaging for key announcements
- Support fundraising campaigns with social media amplification
- Help with recruitment marketing (job posts, employer brand content)
What Success Looks Like in 6 Months
- Consistent social presence Regular posting on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter/X with platformnative content
- Measurable audience growth Follower growth and engagement rates above platform benchmarks
- Student stories pipeline Regular, authentic student stories being shared across platforms
- Engaged community Active comments, shares, and DMs from supporters, educators, and partners
- Content systems running Calendar, approval workflow, asset library, and analytics tracking in place

Who You Are
Foundational Qualities
We hire for character first, skills second. These 8 foundational qualities are nonnegotiable:
1. Mission Alignment
You genuinely care about educational equity. You see social media as a tool for impact, not just engagement metrics. You want to make CodeYogi's work visible because it matters, not because it builds your portfolio.
2. Ownership
You take initiative, build from scratch, and don't wait for content briefs. You see a gap in our social presence and fill it. You own the posting calendar, the community, the metrics — end to end.
3. Resourcefulness
You create compelling content with a phone camera, Canva, and zero budget. You don't need a studio or a photographer to make great content. Constraints fuel your creativity.
4. Empathy
You tell stories about students with dignity and respect. You understand that our students' struggles are not content — their achievements and agency are. You adapt your tone for different audiences.
5. Integrity (NONNEGOTIABLE)
You don't inflate metrics, exaggerate impact, or use manipulative emotional tactics. Every number you post is verified. Every student story is shared with consent. Honesty over virality, always.
6. Communication & Collaboration
You extract stories from the ops team, get approvals from leadership, and communicate with audiences daily. You share analytics and insights proactively. You receive feedback gracefully.
7. Adaptability
You adapt to platform changes, algorithm shifts, and urgent content needs. When a student achievement happens, you create realtime content without disrupting the planned calendar.
8. Excellence
Zero typos. Proper formatting. Correct data. Every post represents CodeYogi to the world. You treat an Instagram Story with the same care as a LinkedIn announcement.
What We Offer
Impact
Your content will directly enable CodeYogi to reach more students, attract funders, and build partnerships. Every post that resonates = more visibility for students who deserve to be seen.
Ownership
You'll own CodeYogi's entire social media presence. Not just execution — strategy, voice, community, and growth. Build from scratch.
Creative Freedom
No corporate brand police. You'll define the social voice, choose the platforms, and create the content. This is your canvas.
Growth
Work directly with the Founder/CEO. Shape the digital presence of a highgrowth nonprofit from the ground up. As we scale, you could build a social/digital team.
MissionDriven Team
Work with people who are here to make a difference. Everyone at CodeYogi is driven by impact.
What We’re NOT Looking For
- Social media scheduler Someone who posts premade content but can't create or strategize
- Vanity metric chaser Focused on follower count over genuine engagement and impact
- Corporate brand manager Polished corporate experience but can't work scrappy with limited resources
- Copypaste poster Same content across all platforms with minor formatting changes
- Influencerstyle creator Focused on personal brand rather than organizational storytelling
- Engagement faker Uses bots, pods, or manipulative tactics
Equal Opportunity
CodeYogi Foundation is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
We especially encourage applications from candidates who have personally experienced the barriers our students face — because that lived experience makes you uniquely equipped to tell their stories with authenticity and dignity.
