Role Overview
The Social Media Executive supports the Senior Social Media Strategist in executing the organisation's social media strategy across all platforms. The role involves day-to-day content creation, scheduling, community management, and performance tracking. The Social Media Executive plays a key role in maintaining the brand's online presence and engaging with its audience in a consistent, on-brand manner.
Key Responsibilities
1. Content Creation & Scheduling
• Create and publish daily/weekly social media posts across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube
• Write engaging captions aligned with the brand's tone and content calendar
• Coordinate with the design and video teams for creatives, reels, and short-form videos
• Schedule and manage content using tools such as Hootsuite, Buffer, or Sprout Social
2. Community Management
• Monitor comments, messages, and mentions across all social platforms
• Respond to audience queries and interactions in a timely and on-brand manner
• Escalate negative feedback or sensitive issues to the Senior Strategist
• Foster community engagement and grow brand loyalty organically
3. Content Calendar Support
• Assist in building and maintaining the monthly content calendar
• Coordinate content requirements across campaigns, product launches, and events
• Ensure timely delivery of content as per the calendar schedule
4. Analytics & Reporting
• Track and compile weekly performance metrics (reach, impressions, engagement, follower growth)
• Prepare basic performance reports and share with the Senior Social Media Strategist
• Identify content that performed well and flag insights for strategy refinement
5. Trend Monitoring
• Stay updated on social media trends, platform algorithm changes, and viral formats
• Suggest timely and relevant content ideas based on current trends
• Monitor competitor social media activity and share observations with the team
6. Campaign Execution Support
• Assist in executing paid and organic social media campaigns under the guidance of the Senior Strategist
• Coordinate with influencers or creators for deliverables and timelines
• Support social media activities for events, product launches, and brand activations
Skills & Competencies
• Proficiency in social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, X
• Basic copywriting and content creation skills
• Familiarity with scheduling and analytics tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, Meta Business Suite, GA4)
• Eye for design and ability to brief creative teams effectively
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Basic understanding of social media paid advertising
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Team player with a proactive attitude
