Job Summary
Snyder Primary School is seeking a dedicated and friendly individual to serve as the Primary Receptionist for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time position is vital to the daily operations of our school, serving as the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist students, parents, staff, and visitors in a warm and professional manner.
- Answer incoming phone calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel or department.
- Manage the front desk, ensuring it is organized, welcoming, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Maintain student attendance records and assist with daily attendance reporting.
- Handle inquiries regarding school policies, events, and procedures.
- Coordinate the distribution of mail and packages to staff and faculty.
- Assist with the scheduling of meetings and events as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student and staff information.
- Support administrative staff with various clerical tasks, including filing, data entry, and document preparation.
- Collaborate with other school personnel to ensure smooth operations and effective communication within the school community.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in office administration is a plus.
- Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in using office equipment (computers, printers, telephones) and software (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a busy environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals.
- A commitment to maintaining a positive and inclusive school environment.
- First Aid/CPR certification is preferred or willingness to obtain.
