The Snr. Design Engineer ensures that all designs are suitable for fabrication and testing, incorporating appropriate manufacturing and welding considerations to meet safety, performance, and delivery requirements.
What you will work on:
- Engineering: Lead and oversee the development of engineering designs by interpreting project requirements and supervising the preparation and review of design drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Provide strategic design guidance to ensure manufacturability, maintainability, and compliance with applicable standards. Drive design optimization to reduce overall lead time, improve engineering efficiency, and support effective material selection and inventory strategies aligned with client demand forecasts and production capabilities.
- Product comparison: Oversee product comparison and evaluation activities by reviewing design, materials, performance, and compliance with applicable specifications and standards. Lead the analysis of differences between offered, existing, and alternative products to support strategic design decisions, cost optimization, manufacturability, and full compliance with project and client requirements.
- Building prototypes:Lead the development and validation of prototypes to ensure design concepts, functionality, and compliance with project specifications. Oversee prototype testing, evaluate performance results, and guide design improvements and revisions prior to final production.
- Production Documentation & Compliance: Oversee the control and review of production documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with approved procedures, drawings, and specifications. Ensure that in-process and intermediate products conform to documented requirements, maintaining traceability, audit readiness, and proper release to subsequent production stages. All documents and records are managed and maintained through the company’s systems to ensure data integrity, version control, and accessibility.
- Reverse Engineering:Oversee reverse engineering activities by analyzing existing products and systems to identify design parameters, materials, and functional requirements. Guide the development and verification of drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support product improvement, replication, or optimization in compliance with applicable standards and project requirements.
- Equipment Status Monitoring: Oversee the operational performance and maintenance of production equipment to ensure reliability, efficiency, and minimal downtime. Ensure regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and timely resolution of equipment issues in coordination with relevant departments. Verify that equipment calibration, servicing, and related documentation are maintained in accordance with company standards, operational requirements, and safety regulations.
- Engineering Strategy & Product Development:Define and lead the engineering strategy and product development plan in line with business goals and client requirements. Oversee the development of new products and improvement of existing designs while ensuring compliance with applicable standards and manufacturability.
- Implementation of the engineering roadmap aligned with company strategy
- Successful development and launch of new or improved products
- Compliance of designs with applicable standards and specifications
- Reduced product development lead time
- Effective coordination between engineering, production, and commercial teams
- Cost Engineering & Design Optimization: Lead cost engineering initiatives by optimizing product designs, materials, and manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce production costs, and maintain product quality and performance.
1.Reduction in product manufacturing cost through design optimization.
2.Improved material utilization and stock management.
3.Reduction of fabrication time through improved design.
4.Implementation of value engineering initiatives.
5.Increased product manufacturability and process efficiency.
- Risk Management & Technical Problem Solving: Identify and manage technical risks related to product design, manufacturing, and project execution. Lead root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions to ensure product reliability and project success.
1.Early identification and mitigation of engineering and technical risks.
2.Reduction in design-related nonconformities and production issues.
3. Effective resolution of technical problems and customer complaints.
4.Implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
5.Improved product reliability and performance.
