Job Summary

We are seeking a Snowflake Platform Administrator to own and operate our enterprise Snowflake data platform. This role is responsible for security, cost governance, performance optimization, automation, and platform enablement, supporting modern data products, native applications, analytics, and collaboration use cases.

The ideal candidate brings deep Snowflake administration expertise, strong SQL skills, and hands-on experience with Python or JavaScript for automation, monitoring, and platform tooling.

Key Responsibilities

Snowflake Platform Administration & Security

• Design, implement, and maintain Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) aligned to enterprise security and least-privilege principles.

• Define, manage, and enforce Network Rules and Network Policies to secure Snowflake access.

• Configure and operate PrivateLink connectivity for secure, private access to Snowflake.

• Ensure platform compliance with security, audit, and governance standards.

Warehouse, Performance & Cost Governance

• Configure, monitor, and optimize Snowflake Virtual Warehouses, including sizing, concurrency, and workload isolation.

• Implement and manage Resource Monitors to control credit consumption and enforce cost guardrails.

• Lead cost monitoring, usage analysis, and optimization efforts across teams and environments.

• Use advanced SQL to analyze query patterns, performance bottlenecks, and consumption trends.

Monitoring, Reporting & Observability

• Develop and maintain Streamlit dashboards on Snowflake to provide observability into:

o Platform cost and credit usage

o Warehouse utilization and performance

o Query behavior and trends

o Health and operational metrics

• Leverage SQL, Python, and/or JavaScript to automate monitoring, reporting, and alerting workflows.

Data Products & Platform Enablement

• Enable and operationalize data product architectures, including:

o Technical roles (Snowflake Admin, Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer)

o Functional roles (Data Owner, Data Steward, Data Consumer)

• Define standardized environments, access models, and operational patterns to support scalable data products.

• Partner with product and analytics teams to enable self-service data consumption.

Data Sharing & Secure Collaboration

• Design and manage Snowflake Data Sharing, including:

o Secure internal and external data shares

o Replication Groups for cross-account and cross-region sharing

o Snowflake Data Clean Rooms for privacy-preserving data collaboration

• Monitor usage, security, and lifecycle of shared datasets.

Native Apps & Advanced Snowflake Capabilities

• Support deployment and operations of Snowflake Native Apps, including:

o Role and permission setup

o Deployment lifecycle and version management

o Secure consumer access

• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to operationalize Snowflake-native solutions.

CI/CD & Infrastructure as Code (Nice to Have)

• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake using:

o GitHub Actions, Terraform, or similar tools

• Automate deployment of Snowflake objects (roles, warehouses, databases, shares, network policies).

• Promote DevOps best practices including version control, automation, and environment parity.

Required Skills & Experience (Must Have)

• Hands-on experience as a Snowflake Platform Administrator / Platform Engineer

• Strong SQL expertise for administration, monitoring, performance analysis, and cost optimization

• Proficiency in Python or JavaScript for:

o Automation and scripting

o Platform monitoring and observability

o Streamlit and Snowflake integrations

• Deep experience with:

o RBAC setup and governance

o Warehouse monitoring and Resource Monitors

o Cost monitoring and optimization

o Network Rules, Network Policies, and PrivateLink

• Experience building and operating Streamlit dashboards on Snowflake

• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), especially networking and security

• CI/CD using GitHub Actions, Terraform, or similar IaC tools

• Experience with Snowflake Data Clean Rooms

• Experience deploying Snowflake Native Apps

• Familiarity with data mesh / data product operating models

• Experience supporting multi-account, multi-region Snowflake architectures
