Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Snowflake Lead to oversee the design, development, and implementation of our Snowflake-based data platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud data warehousing, Snowflake architecture, data modelling, and leading data engineering teams. This role will play a key part in modernizing our data infrastructure and supporting analytics initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of Snowflake data warehouse solutions.
- Architect scalable and secure data pipelines using Snowflake, dbt, and other ETL tools.
- Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Define best practices for Snowflake performance tuning, security, and data governance.
- Manage and mentor a team of data engineers and developers.
- Optimize storage, compute usage, and cost management within the Snowflake environment.
- Implement data quality, lineage, and monitoring processes.
- Integrate Snowflake with third-party tools (e.g., Fivetran, Airflow, dbt, Tableau/Power BI).
- Stay up to date with Snowflake releases and capabilities to recommend innovative solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience.
- Expertise in SQL, data modeling (star/snowflake schema), and performance tuning.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), especially with Snowflake integrations.
- Strong experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Matillion, dbt).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git).
- Experience with scripting languages (Python preferred).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Snowflake certification(s) (e.g., SnowPro Core, SnowPro Advanced: Architect).
- Experience with real-time data ingestion and streaming platforms (Kafka, Apache Spark).
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA) and data governance frameworks.
- Prior experience in leading data platform migration to Snowflake.
