Role Description This full-time, on-site Snowflake Architect role is based in the Greater Chennai Area. The Snowflake Architect will design and evolve scalable data architectures on Snowflake, including data models, data pipelines, and integration patterns with upstream and downstream systems. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand business requirements, translating them into technical designs, and overseeing end-to-end implementation with development teams. The Snowflake Architect will review and optimize SQL, ETL/ELT processes, and performance configurations, while enforcing best practices for data security, governance, and cost management. Daily responsibilities also include mentoring engineers, preparing technical documentation, participating in project planning, and supporting production environments through incident analysis and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Strong background in Architecture and Architectural Design for data platforms, with specific expertise in Snowflake and cloud-based data warehousing.
- Snowflake Architect, Snowflake Solution Design, Snowflake Cortex (Mandatory), AWS (S3, Lambda, Glue, IAM)
- ETL / ELT, Data Ingestion, Data Modeling, Performance Tuning
- Tableau Dashboard Development, Tableau Administration
- Hands-on Software Development experience, including advanced SQL, ETL/ELT development, and scripting (e.g., Python or similar) for data engineering tasks.
- Proficiency in Integration concepts and tools, including APIs, data ingestion frameworks, and connectivity between Snowflake and external applications or BI tools.
- Demonstrated Project Management skills, including planning, estimation, stakeholder communication, and leading cross-functional technical initiatives.
- 12+ years of overall experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related fields, with several years focused on Snowflake or equivalent modern data platforms.
- Experience with cloud ecosystems (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP), data modeling (star/snowflake schemas), and performance tuning of large-scale data systems.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance practices, including role-based access control and data privacy considerations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
