Smithbucklin, a 650-person, employee-owned professional services company with more than 70 years of success serving the association market, with primary offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C., is looking for a Senior Coordinator, Membership & Operations to join our Association Management team in our Washington, DC office.

Representing the majority of our client organizations, the Association Management team helps associations create value for the members by delivering strategy and thought leadership, networking opportunities, commerce solutions, education and certification, and advocacy and promotion. The Senior Coordinator, Membership & Operations plays an integral role in organizing a wide range of activities relating to general association management.

What You Will Do:
  • Drive day-to-day client association operations
  • Develop, drive, manage, and oversee the overall membership strategy, including renewal and recruitment process
  • Oversee the association financial management function
  • Manage the membership dues and invoicing process
  • Direct the association’s member communications (i.e., e-alerts, monthly newsletters, web content, etc.)
  • Serve as a key resource to the Board and the association’s committees
  • Handle logistical arrangements for various meetings and events, to include travel, Board book development and post meeting action items
  • Execute the strategic direction as set by the Board and the Executive Director
  • Develop and retain support staff

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years of relevant professional experience
Preferred Qualifications:  
  • Experience working with international volunteers is valuable
  • A solid knowledge base of the Business & Trade association/industry
  • Database management experience is a plus
  • Proficiency with basic computer programming, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Smithbucklin is a hybrid work environment with in-office days established as Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.  Employees will work a standard 40-hour week, with the possibility of additional hours based on project deadlines.
 
Smithbucklin considers several factors when determining compensation, including a candidate's recent coursework, training, experience, and certifications, among other considerations. The expected pay for this role is $70,000-$74,000.
