Job Summary: Smith + Howard, a leading tax accounting and advisory firm, is seeking a Market Research Analyst to support its business growth initiatives. The role involves conducting industry research, analyzing market trends, customer preferences, competitive analysis and providing data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with market intelligence tools, and the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations. Key Responsibilities: Conduct market research to identify industry trends, customer demographics and needs, purchasing behavior and competitive landscapes. Analyze large data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and consumer behavior and provide insights that support business growth strategies. Extract actionable insights from tools like HubSpot, ZoomInfo, and Google Analytics to identify prospects that are likely to convert. Monitor industry developments, regulatory changes, and economic factors that impact the firm. Compile reports and presentations summarizing research findings and business implications. Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as marketing, sales, and product development, to integrate research findings into business decisions. Track client lists across the Smith + Howard Family of Companies to identify and elevate the clients that are most eligible for an expansion of services. Use data visualization tools to present research insights in an accessible format. Assist in evaluating new markets, potential partnerships, and expansion opportunities. Maintain a database of research reports, market trends, and relevant industry news. Support the development of client outreach strategies based on market intelligence. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related field. 3-6 years of experience in market research, business intelligence, or a related role. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or BI software. Proficiency in research methodologies and market research tools, including Statista, IBISWorld, Zoom Info, Google Analytics, and HubSpot. Knowledge of the tax accounting and advisory industry (preferred but not required). Ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable strategies. Excellent communication and report-writing skills. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
