About the role

Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) play a crucial role in fulfilling the financial needs of individuals, as well as businesses that have conventionally remained underserved or un-served by banks. The Collections function is the nervous system of the NBFC / Banking sector. They are instrumental in keeping a check on the financial health of the organization and play a supporting role to curtail risk. The Collections function looks after debt collection from customers where the loan has passed the due date. The scope includes a wide range of asset classes, from small-ticket consumer loans to unsecured personal loans, secured assets, farm, tractor, and SME/MSME, and each product and delinquency stage requires a unique solution. The requirements for an early-stage debt collection differ from those for a mid or late-stage debt collection approach. The objective of Collection Strategy is to improve efficiency and productivity of the Collections function, enabling recoveries at a lower cost with innovative means with the help of the latest digital and analytics tools. Responsibilities: Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to evaluate debt portfolio performance. Analyze historical data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in debt collection processes. Generate reports and dashboards to communicate analytical findings to the management team. Portfolio Management: Assist in the segmentation of debt portfolios based on risk and other relevant factors. Monitor the performance of debt portfolios and recommend adjustments to collection strategies as needed. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely updates to debt portfolio databases. Strategy Development: Contribute to the development of data-driven debt collection strategies. Work with senior analysts to assess the effectiveness of existing strategies and propose enhancements. Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in debt collection analytics. Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement within the debt collection workflow. Collaborate with operational teams to implement changes that enhance efficiency and effectiveness Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and maintain documentation related to debt collection processes and analytical methodologies. Generate regular reports for management and stakeholders, summarizing key performance metrics
