Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in Bengaluru for a Lead Data Scientist in the Speech team at smallest.ai. Someone with strong experience in speech either via research or industry is preferred. This is a hands-on role, although you will be expected to guide junior data scientists. Increments and appraisals will be quarterly and merit+company performance-based.

Requirements:

1. MS/PhD in speech or equivalent industry experience (3-5 years) 
2. Must have experience training/finetuning LLMs for production usecases/published papers
3. Hands on in Pytorch, Python
4. Strong understanding of deep learning foundations
5. Experience in working with large datasets
6. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
8. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics)
9. Experience with machine learning algorithms and tools

Great to Have:

1. Experience curating text to speech datasets
2. Experience with audio encoders and decoders
3. Experience with MLOps
4. Experience with TensorRT
5. Experience guiding a team of junior data scientists
