Summary

The Data Management Specialist is responsible for providing high‑quality technical, domain, and software support across subsurface data workflows within the oil and gas environment. This role ensures that geoscience and engineering data is properly received, formatted, validated, stored, visualized, and delivered using industry‑standard platforms and best practices. The position requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and direct interaction with internal and external clients

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics, Geology, or a related Geoscience discipline, with a strong interest in data management.
  • Familiarity with various Data Management software platforms.
  • Hands‑on experience with Petrel software.
  • Knowledge of data workflows including:
    • data reception
    • data formatting and preparation
    • data ingestion
    • data quality control
    • data visualization
    • data delivery
  • Understanding of industry standards such as OSDU, PPDM, and Energistics.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

 


Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • Provide high‑quality domain and software support to multiple clients using SLB platforms and associated technologies.
  • Deliver training courses to internal teams and external clients, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and user adoption.
  • Collaborate closely with domain experts across engineering, geology, petrophysics, geophysics, reservoir engineering, and related disciplines.
  • Support pre-sales and sales activities by providing domain expertise in technology demonstrations, technical discussions, and solution positioning.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of data workflows, quality standards, and operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data ingestion, data validation, and application performance.
  • Ensure data governance practices are followed according to industry standards and internal guidelines.
  • Prepare documentation, workflows, and best‑practice guides to support users and project teams.

  • Proven experience in the oil and gas industry supporting data management activities.
  • Knowledge of cloud‑based subsurface data management solutions.
