About the role

The Buyer supports the procurement department by sourcing and purchasing materials, components, and services to meet production and operational needs. This role focuses on building supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze supply and demand data to create purchase orders.
  • Source and purchase components for production, engineering, and sales.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers.
  • Maintain supplier database and performance scorecards.
  • Collaborate with production and other departments to resolve material issues.
  • Monitor and expedite late orders, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Support cost savings initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Coordinate orders with logistics to meet delivery schedules
  • Forecast demand and adjust orders to avoid overstocking or stockouts
  • Assist in MRB (Material Review Board) process

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of buying or procurement experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of MRP systems and sourcing practices.
  • Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Excellent communication and vendor relationship skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, multitask, and problem solve.
