About the Department
The Scientific Research Assistant position is requested to support the OB/GYN research team by assisting with various low-level clinical research related duties. The role will operate under the supervision of qualified research personnel and is intended to supplement staff efforts while improving efficiency and timeliness of research activities. This position also provides a structured learning opportunity for an undergraduate student in alignment with program guidelines.
Position Duties
• Provide general support to OB/GYN/CCR research staff, coordinators, and investigators
• Assist with chart review, data collection, data entry, and maintenance of research databases and study documents
• Gather and verify research-related records (e.g., medical records, reports) and support patient enrollment documentation
• Maintain organized study files and assist with quality assurance activities to ensure audit readiness
• Support basic reporting and may assist with abstracts or manuscripts
• Participate in required meetings and perform other assigned research-related duties
Minimum Qualifications
1) Must be currently enrolled as a college student. If appointment is to be made during the summer months, individual must show transcript or grade slip verification that s/he was enrolled during the spring semester immediately prior to the appointment (a student ID card is not sufficient.); AND
2) Must have successfully completed no less than 30 semester hours of college coursework, with at least one course in the field of science or biology with related laboratory training; AND
3) Must be 18 years of age or older.
