Job Title: SysEng - DevOps/Platform Engineer
Expeerience required - 3 to 6 years
Position Overview
Looking for a platform/devops engineer to automate code-driven deployment of team code and own shared external application infrastructure like monitoring, build artifact registries, repo management tools, and so forth.
● Grafana, Perses, or similar OSS dashboarding experience required
● Prometheus, Victoria, or similar OSS monitoring experience required
● Basic data analysis skills required
● Performance profiling experience preferred
● CI/CD (open source tooling, github actions) experience required
● Some build pipeline experience preferred
● AWS ec2, vpc, s3, eks experience required
● Kubernetes experience required
● Docker experience required
● Terraform experience required
● Golang experience preferred
● Scripting language (python, bash, etc) experience required
● Linux administration (bash, systemd units, general system navigation) experience
preferred
Task Expectations
● Repository management automation
○ CI/CD pipeline control
○ Further develop repository manager process/repo
■ Currently one-shot repository direnv + nix dev environment
w/standardized language templates, needs to be continuous
● Deploy ancillary team services in AWS
○ Monitoring stack
■ Grafana, Perses, or similar
■ Prometheus, Victoria, or similar
○ Build artifact registries
■ Need endpoints acting as target for build systems and seed source for DC
systems to pull from for new versions and full redeploys for:
● Binaries
● Host images
● Docker container images for team services
● VM images for team services
○ Other shared tooling as needed
● Monitoring
○ Alerting
■ Integrations
● Pagerduty
● Sentry
● Slack
○ Dashboarding
■ User-facing dashboards
● Generic surfacing of metrics for guests from host/service layer
● Top-level “service status”
■ Internal dashboards
● Node-local
● Fleet/group metrics
● Services
○ Integrate with deployed management system for health
data
○ Log aggregation
● Kubernetes cluster deployment automation
○ Initial setup & lifecycle automation
○ Scale up/down
