About the Role
STEAG Energy Services India is seeking an accomplished Site Head – Project Management Consultancy (PMC) to lead and oversee end-to-end execution of large-scale thermal power projects. The incumbent will serve as the senior-most PMC representative at site, ensuring safe, timely, and quality delivery of the project from erection through commissioning, performance guarantee (PG) testing, and final handover.
This role requires exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and technical expertise in managing complex BTG and BOP interfaces while coordinating with clients, OEMs, Owner's Engineers, contractors, and statutory authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction for PMC activities at the project site.
- Lead project execution across all phases including erection, installation, commissioning, PG testing, and handover.
- Act as the single point of contact between the Employer, EPC contractors, OEMs, Owner's Engineer, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure compliance with project schedules, quality standards, contractual obligations, and safety requirements.
- Drive resolution of critical technical, commercial, and execution challenges.
- Monitor project progress, risks, milestones, and resource deployment to achieve project objectives.
- Coordinate BTG and BOP activities to ensure seamless integration and timely completion.
- Review and approve execution strategies, site reports, technical submissions, and performance metrics.
- Lead client meetings, progress reviews, and management presentations.
- Ensure adherence to applicable statutory, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor and guide multidisciplinary PMC teams to maintain high standards of performance and delivery.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Engineering. Master's degree preferred.
- 25+ years of experience in large thermal power plant projects.
- Proven track record in leading project execution and commissioning of utility-scale power projects.
- Extensive experience in PMC, EPC, Owner's Engineer, or power generation environments.
- Strong understanding of BTG and BOP systems, commissioning methodologies, and PG testing.
- Excellent stakeholder management and decision-making capabilities.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and project governance skills.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and multiple contractors at site.
