Role Summary:
This is a ground-up role. You will be on site, not in an office. When a cold room order comes in, you own everything that happens from that moment until the unit is commissioned, tested, handed over to the client, and signed off. You coordinate the civil contractors, the electrical team, the refrigeration vendors, and the equipment delivery, and you are the face of Crystal to the client on the ground. You report back daily to project management so leadership always knows exactly where each site stands. If you are someone who likes to see what they have built at the end of the day, this role is for you.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Study the order, drawings, BOQ, and site layout before mobilisation, and understand the full scope before you reach the site
• Coordinate civil contractors for foundation, flooring, drainage, and structural work, supervise daily, and ensure quality and timeline
• Manage electrical contractors for power supply, DB installation, wiring, and earthing, and check every connection before equipment is powered
• Coordinate with refrigeration equipment vendors, confirm delivery schedules, supervise unloading and installation of compressors, condensing units, evaporators, and insulated panels
• Manage insulation panel installation, ensure panel joints, door frames, and seals are fitted correctly and to spec
• Be the on-ground POC for the client, give daily or weekly progress updates, address site queries, and manage expectations professionally
• Conduct daily site inspections, check workmanship quality, materials used, and safety compliance at every stage
• Run temperature pull-down tests, load trials, and system checks before handing over to the client
• Prepare and share site progress reports, daily update to the project manager, weekly summary to leadership
• Snag all defects before the client walkthrough, own the snag list, and close every item before final sign-off
• Complete all commissioning documentation, handover certificate, equipment manuals, warranty cards, and as-built drawings
• Train the client's site team on basic operations, temperature monitoring, and first-level troubleshooting
• Coordinate with procurement for materials and spares required on site, raise indents, and track delivery
Key Responsibilities:
- Cold Room Design & Layout Basics
- Insulated Panel Installation
- Refrigeration System – Compressors & Condensers
- Evaporator & Expansion Valve Fitting
- Refrigerant Piping & Brazing
- Temperature Pull-Down & Load Testing
- Civil Works Supervision
- Electrical Panel & Wiring Oversight

Required Qualifications & Expierence:
• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or Electrical Engineering
• 2-6 years of on-site experience in cold room installation, commissioning, or HVAC projects
• Must have been on the ground, this role is for someone who has physically supervised installations, not just reviewed drawings from an office
• Hands-on with refrigeration equipment — compressors, evaporators, condensing units, insulated panels
• Comfortable dealing with civil and electrical contractors on site — you manage them, not the other way around
• Able to read and understand AutoCAD drawings, BOQs, and schematic diagrams
• Good communication skills — you will speak to clients on site daily and report to project management in writing
• Willing to travel and stay on site anywhere in India for the duration of a project
