Job SummaryThe Site Engineer will be responsible for on-site execution of solar EPC projects, ensuring work is carried out as per approved drawings, quality standards, safety norms, and project timelines. The role involves coordination with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to support smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Site Execution & Supervision- Supervise day-to-day site activities for solar EPC projects (rooftop / ground-mounted).
- Ensure installation of solar modules, mounting structures, inverters, cable laying, and associated electrical and civil works as per approved drawings.
- Coordinate with contractors and technicians to ensure timely and quality execution.
Quality Control- Ensure work is executed in compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks for materials and workmanship.
- Identify defects and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Safety & Compliance- Enforce HSE policies and ensure safe working practices at site.
- Conduct toolbox talks and ensure use of PPE by site personnel.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, electrical safety norms, and site safety guidelines.
Coordination & Reporting- Coordinate with procurement for timely availability of materials.
- Liaise with design, QA/QC, and commissioning teams as required.
- Prepare daily site progress reports, manpower reports, and material consumption records.
- Support inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
Documentation & Records- Maintain site logs, checklists, and as-built documentation.
- Assist in preparation of completion reports and handover documents.
Technical Skills- Basic understanding of solar PV systems and EPC execution.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and BOQs.
- Knowledge of electrical safety practices and site execution norms.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and reporting tools.
Behavioral & Soft Skills- Willingness to work at remote project sites and travel as required.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
- Ability to work under site conditions and tight timelines.
