Job details:
Who Are We
Raptee.HV is a full- stack electric motorcycle startup with a very strong technical moat, founded in 2019 by four engineers from Chennai (Ex Tesla, Wipro), working on bringing a no-compromise upgrade motorcycle to an otherwise scooter- only EV market. Raptee is incubated at CIIC & ARAI.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Simulations and Systems Engineering Intern to support end-to-end development of EV subsystems. You will contribute to CFD, structural, and NVH simulations; drive physical validation of components; support FMEA and DVPR creation; and assist in designing and evaluating key systems like the battery pack, motor controller, gearbox, and other powertrain assemblies. This role involves both simulation and hands-on testing to ensure functional performance, durability, and reliability of the vehicle systems.
What You’ll Do
- Run CFD, structural, and NVH simulations to evaluate thermal performance, strength, stiffness, vibration behavior, and noise characteristics of components and subsystems.
- Participate in defining and executing Design Validation Plans and Reports (DVPR) for battery, powertrain, and structural systems.
- Support physical validation and testing, including test setup, instrumentation, data collection, and result interpretation.
- Contribute to Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for subsystems such as battery, motor controller, drivetrain, and chassis-mounted components.
- Assist in designing and evaluating battery modules, cooling systems, motor controllers, gear drives, and other vehicle systems.
- Correlate simulation outputs with test results and refine models for improved accuracy.
- Collaborate with design, testing, and manufacturing teams to close engineering loops and drive design improvements.
Who Can Apply
- Basic understanding of thermal systems, structural mechanics, vibration, and fluid flow fundamentals.
- Familiarity with FMEA, reliability engineering concepts, and validation workflows.
- Experience running simulations using tools such as Ansys, Altair & MATLAB.
- Prior exposure to laboratory testing, data acquisition systems, or validation processes is preferred.
- Ability to build mathematical or simulation models to interpret test data and predict system behavior.
- Understanding of battery systems, power electronics, or drivetrain components is an advantage.
What’s In It For You
- Opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Opportunities for professional advancement as the company undergoes expansion.
- A culture that fosters collaboration and creativity within the team.
- Collaborate closely with seasoned experts in the field.
- Gaining an entry point into the field of automobile development.
