Job Title: Simulation Lab Technician (Skill Lab)

About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Simulation Lab Technician to support simulation-based learning and clinical skills training activities. The candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting simulation equipment and lab systems to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient academic and training sessions. The role also involves assisting faculty and students in creating an effective hands-on learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Simulation Equipment Operations & Maintenance
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot simulation equipment, task trainers, and audiovisual systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of simulation devices and laboratory equipment.
- Ensure all simulation equipment is functioning according to manufacturer guidelines and operational standards.
- Conduct regular inspections, testing, and equipment checks before training sessions.
Simulation Session Support
- Prepare simulation labs, training rooms, mannequins, and required materials prior to sessions.
- Assist faculty during simulation exercises, practical training, workshops, and examinations.
- Set up simulation scenarios and support the operation of simulation software and control systems.
- Ensure all equipment and supplies are ready for scheduled academic and training activities.
Technical Troubleshooting & User Support
- Respond quickly to technical issues during simulation sessions.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and coordinate repairs when required.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to faculty, staff, and students on the use of simulation equipment.
Inventory & Asset Management
- Maintain accurate records of simulation equipment, maintenance activities, and service history.
- Monitor inventory levels of consumables, accessories, and spare parts.
- Ensure proper tagging, tracking, and management of all simulation lab assets.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain maintenance logs, calibration records, inspection reports, and operational documentation.
- Ensure all records are organized, updated, and audit-ready.
- Report equipment issues, incidents, and maintenance needs to the concerned supervisor.
Coordination & Academic Support
- Coordinate with faculty and academic departments regarding simulation schedules and technical requirements.
- Support OSCEs, clinical competency assessments, workshops, and other academic events.
- Plan maintenance activities to avoid disruption to academic operations.
Vendor & Service Coordination
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for specialized maintenance and repair activities.
- Assist in the installation, setup, and commissioning of new simulation equipment.
Qualification & Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in medical technology, Healthcare Simulation Technology, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in simulation labs or healthcare technical support is preferred.
- Familiarity with simulation mannequins, audiovisual systems, and clinical training equipment.
- Basic understanding of electronics, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance.
