Position Summary
A Consumer Lending Assistant (CLA) is responsible for being a resource to the Consumer Loan Officers (CLO); assisting with daily functions to allow the CLO’s the ability to be readily available for loan requests. The CLA is the point of contact for member calls received by the contact center to expedite loan questions and recognize potential loan opportunities, serving as the liaison between the member and the CLO through the loan transaction. The CLA will also process behind the scenes lien functions, ancillary product maintenance, loan maintenance requests, and insurance. This position will work in partnership with the CLO in achieving aggressive volume sales goals while driving efficiencies, meeting deadlines, providing timely service to members, and serving as backup support for the consumer lending department.
This position will always project a positive and friendly image for the credit union through interactions with members and co-workers. This is a full-time position that will work out of our Stevens Point Branch. This position will work M-F during business hours.
- · Partner with Consumer Loan Officers with new loan requests, member service, and communication with interested parties.
- · Responsible for processing all Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) filings.
- · Responsible for consumer loan post close servicing: lien follow-ups, loan payoffs, skip pays, releasing collateral, uploading to Meridian Link, filing of original signatures, GAP/MBP claims and cancellations.
- · Assists with consumer loan applications.
- · Point of contact for member calls received by the contact center to expedite loan questions and recognize potential loan opportunities; ensuring that the individual receives prompt attention.
- · Answer general questions from members regarding consumer loans and rates.
- · Assist Consumer Loan Officers with scheduling appointments or gathering additional information.
- · Seeks out opportunities to enhance the members’ experience by recognizing and presenting additional loan opportunities or offering products and services that would improve the members’ financial lives.
- · Reinforce continuous collaboration and respectful communication between all departments by promoting strong, positive, and productive working relationships through the commitment to the company’s core values, vision and mission statements.
Requirements
Competencies
- · High school education or GED and 2 years of similar experience.
- · Sales experience preferred.
- · Excellent communication skills.
- · A high degree of mental concentration to interpret and act upon a wide range of situations, even under pressure.
- · A high level of accuracy and attention to details.
- · Must be friendly and able to represent the credit union in a professional and positive manner.
- · Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- · Able to remain calm and patient in stressful situations.
- · Service-oriented; a team player.
- · Maintain a comprehensive understanding of consumer loan products and procedures.
