Packer

Simon's Specialty Foods is a wholesale manufacturer of pies and pastries for local and provincial customers. The role of order picker/packer is responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of orders. This is a fast past role requiring the ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines. Monday - Friday (Please do not apply if you cannot commit to this schedule) Responsibilities: ·Wrap, label and case individual frozen products ·Prepare orders by pulling items from freezer (-18C environment, ~1 hour daily) ·Restack freezer with prepared products · Follow company SOP's, GMP's, and Health and Safety Standards · Assess product quality during order-picking/packing and report issues as needed. · Assist in loading delivery trucks with prepared orders · Ensure accuracy of orders, including correct wrapping and labelling · Operate equipment effectively and report any defects to the Lead. · Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and assigned areas. · Perform general warehouse cleanup and assist the production team as required. · Other duties as assigned Requirements: · Proficiency in English (written and oral). · Ability to work in and out of the freezer frequently. · Ability to stand for the entire shift and lift up to 40 lbs occasionally (frequent lifting up to 20 lbs). · No allergies to dairy or nuts, and comfort handling meat. · Must have CSA approved safety boots · Must be able to follow instruction, work in cooperation with others, & must be attentive to detail to ensure accuracy of work assignments. Must be able to keep up the pace with others on the line
