Provide critical support to the accounting department. The CFO will train and supervise the Staff Accountant(s) and perform complex clerical, bookkeeping, and other accounting assignments.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees Accounting operations, which include financial accounting, accounts payable, and accounting portion of payroll
- Oversees the system of internal controls over Accounting functions to minimize risk
- Supervises Accountant staff
- Recruits and hiring accounting staff
- Coordinates training programs for new and existing accounting staff
- Handles discipline and termination of accounting staff as needed and in accordance with company policy
Job Responsibilities:
- Critically evaluates accounting department and its needs.
- Presents recommendations to management on short- & long-term financial objectives.
- Responsible for tax planning throughout the fiscal year.
- Works closely with outside accountants to review required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies as it pertains to the Company and any outside interests of the President.
- Reviews financial accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Works with the President and other executives to establish priorities.
- Oversees investment of funds.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Reviews/submits annual census and form 5500 for our 401(k) account.
- Reviews/submits annual insurance renewal forms with Company's broker.
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Other related duties/project as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent management and supervisory skills
- Exceptional knowledge of financial accounting
- Exceptional knowledge of entity & personal tax preparation for federal, state, and local governments
- Exceptional understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
- Highly proficient with accounting software
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite products (Word, Excel, & Outlook)
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills
- Self-motivated, self-reliant, & able to work well independently and in a team
- Effective and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Must pass a pre-employment background screening
- Must be eligible & have documentation to support eligibility to work in the United States
Education & Experience:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required
- Eight years or more of experience in financial management required
- Certified Public Accountant designation required
- Five to eight years of experience in a medium-sized public accounting firm handling small business and individual clients required
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9am to 5:00pm with an hour paid lunch. Schedules are subject to change, without notice, at the sole discretion of the company. As an exempt employee, it is expected that you will work whatever hours are necessary to accomplish the goals and deliverables of your department.
