Role Overview
The Signal Processing / Antenna Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and validating advanced antenna systems and RF signal processing algorithms for Counter-Drone and Electronic Warfare applications.
The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Digital Signal Processing (DSP), antenna design, beamforming, RF signal analysis, direction finding, and target detection. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams including RF, Radar, AI/ML, Embedded Systems, FPGA, and Software Engineering to deliver robust, production-ready defence solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Signal Processing
- Develop RF signal detection, classification, and identification algorithms for Counter-Drone applications.
- Design and implement Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms for target detection and tracking.
- Develop filtering, modulation recognition, spectral analysis, and interference mitigation techniques.
- Optimize detection performance in complex and noisy RF environments.
- Support real-time signal processing implementation and algorithm optimization.
2. Antenna Design & Development
- Design broadband, directional, and high-gain antenna systems.
- Develop antenna arrays for advanced surveillance and Counter-UAS applications.
- Perform beamforming, direction finding (DF), and array optimization.
- Optimize antenna gain, bandwidth, radiation patterns, polarization, and efficiency.
- Conduct antenna measurements, tuning, and performance validation.
3. Simulation & Analysis
- Perform antenna modelling and electromagnetic simulations using:
- CST Studio Suite
- ANSYS HFSS
- FEKO
- Analyze antenna performance, RF propagation, and electromagnetic interference.
- Evaluate system performance under varying operational and environmental conditions.
- Support design optimization through simulation and experimental validation.
4. System Integration
- Integrate antenna and signal processing subsystems with:
- RF Hardware
- Radar Systems
- Electronic Warfare Payloads
- AI-based Detection Systems
- Embedded Platforms
- FPGA-Based Systems
- Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Participate in laboratory evaluations, field trials, and customer demonstrations.
5. Validation & Qualification
- Conduct laboratory testing and field validation of antenna and signal processing subsystems.
- Analyze system performance and recommend design improvements.
- Support Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), qualification testing, and customer acceptance trials.
- Ensure compliance with defence quality and performance standards.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Signal Processing and/or Antenna Design.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
- Fast Fourier Transform (FFT)
- Digital Communication Systems
- Beamforming Techniques
- Direction Finding (DF)
- RF Signal Detection & Analysis
- Experience developing algorithms using MATLAB and/or Python.
- Hands-on experience with antenna simulation tools such as:
- CST Studio Suite
- ANSYS HFSS
- FEKO
- Strong understanding of RF propagation, antenna measurements, and electromagnetic theory.
- Experience working on defence, aerospace, radar, or mission-critical communication systems.
Preferred Skills
Experience in one or more of the following domains is highly desirable:
- Counter-Drone (C-UAS) Systems
- Radar Signal Processing
- Electronic Warfare (EW)
- Software Defined Radio (SDR)
- AI-assisted RF Signal Classification
