As part of the Costumes Technical Design Team, the Costumes Technical Design Coordinator will support various processes within the team primarily to assist the Technical Construction Designer role. They will also assume key organizational responsibilities for new and remount show openings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for writing technical documents for all costumes within rebuild shows and assisting the Costumes Technical Construction Designer with technical details for new show builds: Facilitate production team meetings to review technical requirements for garment cutting and sewing assembly processes.
  • Create spec sheets, upkeep patternmaking files, and create and maintain departmental documentation of workflow and work progress.
  • Maintain and serve as point of contact for database containing all costumes build, design, and planning information.
  • Organize and oversee the logistics of fittings and alterations season, lead costume room during dress rehearsals, and show openings.
  • Head up remount process with outsourcers and Branson wardrobe team, create tech packs, and organize distribution of rebuild projects.
  • Oversee production team tasks and workflow in collaboration with Costumes Project Manager.
  • Attend all production team meetings, design and technical meetings; participate in Costumes Leadership Team.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Prerequisites:

  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, experience in theatrical costuming, and good textile knowledge are all necessary skills
  • Possess strong computer skills with some experience in technical writing is desired, with the ability to carefully create and maintain highly detailed documents
  • Have the ability to clearly communicate technical details to the production teams, and demonstrate strong leadership qualities in verbal communication, listening and problem solving
  • History of strong project management skills with big picture vision, strong servant leadership presence, and highly effective communication are required
  • Detail oriented, excellent organizational skills with an eye for improving processes and efficiencies
  • Ability to guide a team in adapting to change and energized by a fast-paced environment

The physical demands of this position are typical for a desk job. You will be at a desk most of the day, typically with the option to sit or stand. You may have to lift/exert up to 10 lbs. of force on occasion. The full physical requirements of this job are available upon request.
