About the role

Position Summary: Come join a small, dynamic team of developers building important applications that help power university team travel across the US, from regular season through championship travel. Inside or outside IT, we have a great team culture where we genuinely enjoy who we work with. The successful candidate for this role initially will dive in to learn and support existing ColdFusion-based web applications used by staff and clients, but will also in time be involved in learning other application development platforms that might extend or replace some legacy systems. What you can expect in this role Application Maintenance & Performance: Ensure uptime for all internal and client-facing applications. Maintain SLAs on bug detection to resolution. Conduct regular code reviews and optimizations to ensure applications are running efficiently and securely. Feature Development: Successfully deploy significant new features or improvements each year, aligning with the product roadmap and stakeholder expectations. Lead the development and integration of a major new module or service within the first year, enhancing the portal's value proposition to clients. Team Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborate effectively with the product management and customer service teams to align development work with user feedback and requirements. Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Introduce at least two significant process or technology improvements per year that increase development efficiency or product quality. Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in web development technologies, evaluating their applicability to ongoing and future projects. We are a team at Short's Travel Management and as such, you may be expected to assist in other departments or handle tasks outside of your typical position scope for the benefit of our clients or company.
