Senior Data Scientist (Remote, United States)

As a Senior Data Scientist at Shopify, you'll work on building world-class machine learning models and data products that power our merchant-facing features. This is a unique opportunity to work on high-impact projects at the intersection of commerce, analytics, and AI/ML. Responsibilities: - Lead the end-to-end process of building and deploying machine learning models that solve complex business problems - Work closely with product managers, engineers, and subject matter experts to understand business requirements and translate them into data science solutions - Explore and analyze large, complex datasets to uncover insights that drive business impact - Build and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines to support our data science efforts - Mentor and guide more junior data scientists, sharing your expertise and helping them grow - Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science and machine learning, and proactively identify opportunities to apply new techniques Qualifications: - 5+ years of experience as a data scientist or machine learning engineer, with a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions - Expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling techniques, with the ability to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions - Proficiency in Python and familiarity with popular data science libraries like NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, and TensorFlow - Experience working with large-scale, complex datasets and building robust data pipelines - Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to tackle ambiguous and open-ended challenges - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams - Master's degree or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline
