Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Shopify Developer who doesn’t just build websites—but engineers high-converting eCommerce experiences.
This role goes beyond coding. You will be responsible for translating business goals into optimized storefronts that drive revenue, improve user journeys, and maximize conversion rates. You should think like a growth marketer + developer hybrid.
Key Responsibilities
1. Shopify Development & Customization- Build and customize Shopify themes (Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Develop custom sections, templates, and reusable components
- Optimize store performance, speed, and responsiveness
- Implement third-party integrations (apps, APIs, payment gateways)
2. Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)- Treat every page as a conversion funnel, not just a design
- Improve product pages, cart, and checkout experience
- Implement A/B tests for layouts, CTAs, and user flows
- Optimize for metrics like:
- Conversion Rate (CVR)
- Average Order Value (AOV)
- Cart Abandonment Rate
3. UX & Performance Thinking- Collaborate with designers and marketers to improve UX
- Ensure mobile-first, frictionless buying experience
- Identify drop-off points using analytics tools
- Improve page load speeds and Core Web Vitals
4. Analytics & Tracking- Set up and manage tracking tools:
- Google Analytics / GA4
- Meta Pixel
- Conversion APIs
- Translate data into actionable improvements
5. Collaboration- Work closely with performance marketing and growth teams
- Align development with campaign goals and landing page needs
- Take ownership of the end-to-end storefront performance
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Shopify development
- Strong proficiency in:
- Liquid
- JavaScript
- HTML5 & CSS3
- Experience with Shopify Plus is a plus
- Deep understanding of eCommerce conversion principles
- Familiarity with CRO tools (e.g., Hotjar, Google Optimize, VWO)
- Experience in speed optimization and performance debugging
- Strong problem-solving mindset with business-first thinking
