The Warehouse Associate loads and unloads merchandise from trailers; sorts, scans, and stacks merchandise; verifies accuracy and integrity of merchandise; transfers merchandise to appropriate areas; and is responsible for proper use of equipment and maintaining a clean work area.
- Unloads merchandise received on semi-trucks.
- Inspects cartons of merchandise for damages and audits product content.
- Sorts and stacks cases onto pallets by reading case labels.
- In coordination with Warehouse Lead and SFP Sales Representatives, loads necessary merchandise from shelves onto box trucks for future site visits.
- Regularly drives company-owned cargo van to transport merchandise to retail stores or customer locations.
- Understands and follows standard operating procedures and commits to achieving individual tasks in order to achieve overall team goals.
- Communicates safety and job-related issues to the leadership team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must possess & maintain a valid driver’s license with ability to drive a company owned vehicle.
- Ability to successfully complete an annual motor vehicle record check and acknowledge Shoe Carnival’s Driver Safety policy.
- Ability to operate hand-held scanner.
- Ability to quickly read, learn, and understand standard operating and safety procedures.
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to make reasonable decisions and count accurately.
- Ability to work overtime including extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
