Role Description The Shift Supervisor role at bigbasket is a full-time, on-site position based in Kochi. The Shift Supervisor will oversee daily warehouse or store operations during assigned shifts, ensuring that inventory handling, order processing, and dispatch activities are executed accurately and on time. This role will coordinate and guide shift staff, plan shift schedules, allocate tasks, and monitor performance to maintain safety, productivity, and quality standards. The Shift Supervisor will track key operational metrics, resolve on-the-floor issues, and ensure compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures. This role will also interact with cross-functional teams, support continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to delivering a smooth, customer-centric fulfillment experience.
Qualifications
- Strong team leadership and people management skills, including the ability to supervise, coach, and motivate shift staff.
- Experience in warehouse, store, logistics, or operations management, preferably in e-commerce, retail, or FMCG environments.
- Ability to plan and manage shift schedules, allocate resources, and prioritize tasks to meet operational targets.
- Proficiency in using basic digital tools and warehouse/store management systems; comfort with reporting and tracking metrics.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and on-ground staff.
- Demonstrated focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction in daily operations.
- High school diploma required; a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and peak business periods, as per operational requirements.
- Prior experience in supervising frontline operations teams will be an added advantage.
