Role Description The Shift Incharge / Supervisor – HPDC (High Pressure Die Casting) is a full-time, on-site role based in Satara. The position is responsible for supervising HPDC operations during assigned shifts, including planning daily production activities, allocating manpower, and ensuring adherence to production schedules. The role involves monitoring machine performance, coordinating die changes, checking part quality, and implementing corrective actions to minimize rework and rejection. The supervisor will ensure compliance with safety procedures, maintain shop floor discipline, and keep accurate records of production, downtime, and material usage. Collaboration with maintenance, quality, and planning teams to resolve issues promptly and support continuous improvement is a key part of the day-to-day responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of HPDC processes, casting parameters, and die casting machinery operation.
- Experience in production supervision, shift management, and workforce coordination in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of basic quality tools, defect analysis, and in-process inspection methods for cast components.
- Ability to read technical drawings and work instructions, and apply them to day-to-day shop floor activities.
- Working knowledge of safety standards, 5S practices, and basic lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methods.
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to guide and train team members.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering or a related technical field; relevant HPDC experience is highly preferred.
- Willingness to work in rotating shifts and in an on-site industrial environment in Satara.
