supervises daily melting, casting, and drawing operations during an assigned shift to meet safety, quality, and production goals
Qualification: BE any Branch and 5-10 years of relevant experience
key responsibilities:
Production & Operations ManagementSupervise Processing Units: Oversee operations of alloy and Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC) production units, covering furnace melting, continuous/batch casting, and downstream rolling or wire drawing processes.Control Process Parameters: Monitor critical parameters like furnace and molten metal temperatures, casting speeds, cooling rates, and chemical compositions.Manage Changeovers: Plan, execute, and monitor grade and alloy changeovers smoothly with minimal scrap generation.Achieve Targets: Execute the shift production schedule to meet output and productivity targets while reducing metal loss and operational downtime.
Quality & Process ComplianceQuality Control: Ensure molten metal management and finished rod/wire products adhere to internal metallurgical standards and customer specifications.Coordinate Testing: Coordinate with the quality control laboratory for quick physical, chemical, and electrical conductivity testing of samples.SOP Adherence: Enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the shop floor.
Safety, Housekeeping & MaintenanceHSE & 5S Audits: Lead routine safety checks and conduct regular 5S and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) self-audits on the shop floor.Downtime Minimization: Report equipment anomalies immediately and coordinate with the mechanical/electrical maintenance crew for rapid troubleshooting.
Team & Shift AdministrationManpower Deployment: Allocate operators and technicians to specific workstations based on the shift plan.Shift Handover: Maintain shift logs, record production outputs, and brief the incoming shift incharge on ongoing issues or maintenance needs.
