About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Shift In-Charge to manage our Surface Treatment operations at Malur.
The role involves supervising pre-treatment, powder coating and liquid painting of aluminium die-cast components, while ensuring production, quality and safety standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily surface treatment and coating operations.
- Supervise operators and allocate manpower.
- Monitor pre-treatment chemicals, bath parameters and process conditions.
- Ensure correct coating application and curing.
- Check coating quality and troubleshoot defects.
- Support quality tests such as salt spray, cross-hatch adhesion and DFT measurement.
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance and Production teams.
- Control rejection, rework and material consumption.
- Maintain production and quality records.
- Ensure 5S, PPE, housekeeping and shop-floor safety.
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Maintain production records and support continuous process improvement.
Candidate Requirements
- 1+ years of relevant surface treatment/coating experience.
- Hands-on experience in pre-treatment, powder coating and/or industrial liquid painting.
- Good knowledge of coating defects and process control.
- Knowledge of SURTEC 650 or similar pre-treatment processes preferred.
- Familiarity with salt spray, adhesion and coating thickness testing preferred.
- Experience with aluminium die-cast, automotive or industrial components is an advantage.
- Ability to independently manage operators and shop-floor activities.
- Kannada and/or Tamil preferred.
Education
Diploma / BE / B.Tech / ITI or relevant technical qualification. Strong practical experience will be given importance.
