About the role

Essential Functions:

This position is responsible for:

  • Approaching work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset, and engaging Mid Valley Family Foods Mission Statement to identify, value, prioritize, resource and sustain improvement opportunities.
  • Clean, sanitize, and set up tanks that have been emptied that day or are scheduled for use the following day.
  • Clean, sanitize, and set up fillers for the next day’s production.
  • Sign off on cleaning logs and record washes accurately.
  • Inspect valves and pumps according to Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
  • Test chemical concentrations of cleaners and sanitizers to ensure SSOP compliance.
  • Maintain clean equipment and facilities to prevent product contamination.
  • Always adhere to good housekeeping and personal hygiene practices.
  • Safely handle, mix, and store sanitation chemicals in accordance with safety procedures.
  • Maintain proper chemical levels and know the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) for all chemicals used.
  • Use and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when handling chemicals.
  • Support and assist in the execution of Food Safety and Quality Systems.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum of six months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, and fine motor use with both hands.
  • Regular lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods.
  • Must be capable of moving throughout the manufacturing floor and warehouse as needed.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing factory and in various indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, wet surfaces, and different floor textures is frequent.
  • PPE is required as defined by job duties.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Minimum:

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
    Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and safe chemical handling practices.
  • Understands HACCP principles and the importance of preventing cross-contamination.
  • Ability to thoroughly clean and sanitize all assigned equipment and areas without missing critical spots.
  • Skilled in safely mixing, using, and storing sanitation chemicals according to MSDS guidelines.
  • Ability to operate sanitation tools like foaming units, pressure washers, and hand-held cleaning tools properly and safely.
  • Able to sit, stand, kneel, lift, and climb ladders.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
  • Can reliably work alone and as part of a team.
  • Able to communicate well, verbally and on writing.
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Friendly with good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work weekends and/or Holidays.

 

Pay Rate: $28.23
