Description
The High-Speed Dispersion Operator is responsible for safely and accurately dispersing pigments in water- and solvent-based mediums for large batch production using a high-speed disperser (HSD). This role requires strict adherence to batch ticket instructions, established safety protocols, and union work rules, while maintaining efficiency and quality standards. This is a second shift position, however training may take place on first.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow batch ticket instructions to safely and accurately disperse pigments in accordance with production requirements
- Operate high-speed disperser (HSD) equipment for large batch manufacturing
- Ensure proper handling of water-based and solvent-based materials
- Monitor production processes to maintain product quality and consistency
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company and union standards
- Independently perform job functions while meeting productivity expectations
- Comply with all safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production status, issues, or improvements
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience in manufacturing, coatings, chemicals, or related industry preferred
- Experience operating high-speed dispersers or similar equipment is a plus
- Ability to read and follow batch tickets and work instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a union environment
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move materials in accordance with safety guidelines
- Ability to work with and around chemicals, including solvent-based products
Work Environment:
- Industrial manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, chemicals, and moving equipment
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
